"Abstract Realm"
T BARNY SCULPTURE NEWS
Are you joining me in Santa Fe? It's next week already. Just completed, photographed and took video of this new mobius sculpture titled COPULA which means 'Connecting Word'. It measures 20"H x 17"W x 10"L and is carved from an amazing block of Italian Alabaster. As you can see it has a lot of texture, subtle color and veining. There will be 24 pieces in the show this year. There is quite a range of stone represented such as: Greek Marble, Mexican Fluorite, Utah Calcite, New Mexican Pipestone, Spanish Marble, Iranian Onyx, Indian Sandstone, Italian Marble and, of course, Italian Alabaster. It feels great to complete such a unique body of work for this show called "ABSTRACT REALM". It's always a pleasure to be in Santa Fe. I've been showing my work there now for over 20 years!
So - how do all of these pieces get there? Well, for the past 2 weeks, I've been having them packed at our local Healdsburg UPS store. They are wrapped in bubblewrap and boxed in peanuts. They then will board the Art Delivery Service truck to make their way to Santa Fe. Join me this year! The reception is from 5-7pm on Friday, September 10. The gallery is: Hunter Kirkland Contemporary - 200-B Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
