Did you review what you did last year? How many bronzes did I sell? What was everyone's favorite stone? How did my galleries do compared to the year before? Well, my wife Melinda and my Marketing Director Lori and I always sit down in January, usually over sushi, and go over the happenings of the previous year. It's always fascinating to see what people acquired to be part of their everyday lives. I had repeat collectors and I had new collectors. I'm holding steady carving between 25-30 original stone sculptures every year. The new "gem" patina colors for the bronze collection proved popular this past year. I just finished polishing the piece shown above titled Windan. 'Like The Wind' I'm sailing into 2011 with a full show schedule. Windan is shown in the new Sapphire patina color. THE BRONZE "GEM" COLLECTION
Above is a great look at my sculpture titled ELARA. This picture shows the 3 gem colored patinas of Jade, Sapphire & Ruby. ELARA is an Edition of 25 and measures 17in.x 11in.x 5in. The title means 'Moon of Jupiter'.
My bronzes don't come from clay or wax molds. They come from my original sculpture. It gives the bronzes more integrity. Here is something I hand carved now immortalized in bronze. Stone and wood have some flexibility in their essence. Bronze, however, is the most stubborn material. Using the "lost wax" process, I ask the bronze to transform itself into a T Barny Sculpture. Even the patina preserves the essence of the stone through the patterns I achieve. It is a joy to see my work captured into a new bronze identity.

New Patina's

T BARNY SCULPTURE
On Memorial Day, my wife, Melinda and my Marketing Director, Lori and I walked through the staging of my Collector's Event here on the property. We now have a new map design for all that we have planned. Each year in June we have an event that honors my Collector's. This year it will be a private, black tie affair as I launch my bronze "Gem Collection" in new patina colors. The guests will be photographed as they come in with the sculpture picture here titled EFFLEURAGE and me, "The Artist". The Jade Patina is featured in these pictures. Soon to be released will be the Sapphire Patina and the Ruby Patina. I also have been carving out new stone work in Argentine Onyx, Mexican Fluorite, Utah Calcite and Iranian Onyx. I'm gearing up for the big second half of my year so stay tuned.
