Howdy! See y'all this Friday, Sept. 19 in Santa Fe!
Join Me Friday, September 19 in Santa Fe for SpiritStone!
How is a California stone sculptor influenced by a 25-year relationship with the Santa Fe spirit? SpiritStone answers this question. I'll be giving a quick talk at my reception this Friday, Sept. 19 between 5-7pm about my connection with the Southwest. Santa Fe reaches out and creates a deeply personal connection with each artist who visits. On my very first drive into Santa Fe the light, the mountains, and the interplay between them just called to me as a sculptor. I've been exhibiting in Santa Fe Galleries now for 25 years. Come by and meet Nancy Hunter, the gallery owner who continues to represent me since 2004. Hunter Kirkland Contemporary, 200-B Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM.
T Barny has been creating sculpture professionally for over 30 years. He studied at both Stanford and Brown Universities, and was graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Abstraction is his fascination, and power tools are his forte. All materials have artistic promise in them and T Barny has worked with every type; hot glass, neon gas, bronze, wood, water, steel, and stone. From one foot high tabletop sculptures to twelve-foot tall corporate monoliths, T Barny releases inherent forms out of materials from all over the world.
The natural forms & geometric shapes that science creates are reflected in T Barny’s work. His goal is to create works that reflect the magic and wonder in our world. Known for his seashell-like, mobius forms, T Barny’s work often provokes the response; ‘how does he do that?’
